Overcome self-doubt
Many people who want to take up salsa run into the same feeling: self-doubt.
Thoughts like “I have no rhythm”, “Everyone else is bound to be better than me” or “What if I make mistakes?” are completely normal. Almost every dancer starts out this way.
Nobody is perfect
The great thing about salsa is that nobody has to be perfect. You learn step by step, alongside others who are just starting out like you. The classes aren’t about performing; they’re about discovering, moving and having fun. Mistakes are part of it – in fact, they’re part of the learning process.
Dancing salsa, you’ll soon notice your confidence growing. You become more aware of your body, you learn to let go and you get out of your head for a while. Music helps to ease tension, and connecting with others creates a relaxed, sociable atmosphere.
Overcome it by doing
The best way to overcome self-doubt is simply to start. Don’t wait until you feel “ready”; experience what it’s like to move, laugh and grow on the dance floor. Salsa isn’t a test – it’s an invitation.
